DWG and DXF to PDF Converter
Supported 2D DWG/DXF → fitted raster A4 PDF. Incomplete drawings cannot export.
Fitted view
After you open a file, the engine draws the fitted 2D model space here — or the paper layout saved active in the file when it has no model space. The exported sheet is this view fitted to one A4 landscape page: a raster image, not a vector PDF and not a 1:1 plot.
How the converter works
- Choose a drawing. Pick a .dxf or .dwg file up to 20 MiB and press Open drawing. Parsing runs entirely in this browser tab; oversize files are rejected before anything is rendered.
- The engine draws the fitted scope. The canvas shows the fitted 2D model space; a drawing without model space falls back to the paper layout saved active in the file, and the parse report labels which scope is on screen. It also lists what was parsed: entity counts, layer names, and anything that had to be skipped.
- The export gate decides. Download raster PDF enables only when every entity of the active scope is drawn and no fonts, images or xrefs are missing. Otherwise the status line names the reason with per-type counts, and an unrecognised completeness report blocks the export too — fail closed, never a partial PDF.
- Download the sheet. A pass produces a raster image of the fitted view on a single A4 landscape sheet, scaled to fit with margins, and requests the .pdf download. It is not a vector PDF and not a 1:1 plot.
What converts — and what fails closed
What converts
- 2D model-space linework, text, dimensions and hatches that this engine draws completely
- DXF, the tested format, and DWG files the partial parser can open in full
- One fitted A4 landscape raster sheet with fonts, images and xrefs resolved
- Drawings that report a complete entity count with nothing missing
What fails closed
- Engine-reported missing SHX/TTF fonts — the export names them instead of substituting
- Unreadable images and unresolved xrefs
- Undrawn entities — every drawable entity must be counted as drawn before export runs
- Files over 20 MiB and files that fail to open
- No universal DWG: versions and proxy objects differ, so errors are named, not papered over
Known limits
- Supported input is 2D drawing content that this engine renders completely: DXF is the tested format; DWG parsing covers only part of the format, and some DWG files will not open.
- The output is one fitted raster A4 landscape sheet only: no vector PDF, no 1:1 plot, no drawing-unit or scale fidelity, no paper-space layout or sheet selection, and no multi-page output.
- An incomplete DWG — undrawn entities, missing fonts, unresolved images or xrefs — is refused with a named reason instead of producing a partial PDF.
- File renaming changes nothing: only drawings that render completely convert, whatever the extension says.
- The page processes the drawing in your browser and has no drawing-upload feature. Ordinary hosting requests may still produce service metadata; this is not an audited privacy guarantee.
